Immolation/burning alive, decapitation, mass death, general war-related themes such as extreme violence.
The age of Zero.
In the beginning, there was the world of the miniature garden.
In order to create something tangible, God gave the world Reason.
Then, human beings, the vessels of souls, and Elementals, their alter egos, were created and unleashed into the miniature garden…
Elementals had no will, but simply did as God wished and showed their power to humans.
Sometimes they brought fertility, and sometimes they wielded disaster.
Humans who were convinced of the existence of God’s power chose to live with the Elementals.
Hundreds and hundreds of years passed, and one day, that relationship changed drastically.
The Elementals, who had been offered the bodies of human beings, were now inhabiting the bodies and egos of human beings.
These beings were called Sibyls, and they were revered as those who make full use of the works of God.
This is the story of a God and humans in a world called the miniature garden.
It is a story of foolish humans who are at the mercy of power, fighting and hating each other.
Some hate the world, some sacrifice themselves for it.
Some lament the world, some part from it.
Tita Avenius, born into such a world, was a girl whose fate was turned upside down by an Elemental.
The world was shaken by the war between two great nations.
One was the religious state of Luthra.
It was a wealthy nation where the Aterima followers worshiped Nefeshé, fertility goddess.
The other was Agidis, the country of iron.
Founded by the Hero-King Ydal, it has grown through its iron manufacturing industry.
But since it was surrounded by steep mountains, it was not rich.
The people were suffering from poverty.
And so, they had no other choice.
They had to loot.
It was only a matter of time before a war with Luthra started.
As the conflict continued, many villages and towns were burned in both countries.
Villages caught in the middle of this war were about to have their names erased from the map.
In a world dominated by shouts and screams, a girl wandered around, moving her battered body as hard as she could. Her heart was dominated by one single emotion.
Hate. Hate. Hate.
She only felt hate for this world that took everything from her.
In this unreasonable war where she lost everything, she was wandering with hate.
Her mother’s warmth, her father’s love, her dear siblings… Everything was taken away from her by the absurdity of this world.
As she was making her way to escape from the sounds of strife, she wandered into a place where the flames were burning more fiercely than ever.
Burning flames stirred as if seeking the lives of the living.
It was like a man who had lost his mind and was dancing madly.
While everything was burning away, the girl was attracted to something.
It was the sight of a woman engulfed in the blazing fire.
She would not be able to survive after being burned by such flames.
But the woman twisted her head and turned around to face the girl.
“Found you…”
She said those words with an eerie smile on her face.
It was a voice that was not supposed to be heard. It was like it was speaking directly into the girl’s brain.
“Hehe, you have been chosen…”
There was no time to ask any questions.
In an instant, the girl’s body was entangled in flames, and she cowered to the ground.
“Mh!? AAAAH! It’s hot… My body is burning…!”
She writhed in intense pain as if heated iron had been pressed against her from the inside, and her entire body convulsed violently.
At the same time, the girl was prepared to die.
(I don’t want to die here! I… I…!)
The girl woke up after all the flames covering the village were extinguished.
“I'm alive…?”
Fearfully, she checked her entire body. She thought it was burned, but there were no burns at all, and it felt strangely light.
The girl, who did not understand why, suddenly got the feeling of images running through her brain.
They were memories that did not belong to her.
The memories of girls who had been involved in military and political affairs as Fire Sibyls with the power of Elementals.
“…I'm a Fire Sibyl? Really?”
To test her powers, she held up her right hand. Then, a mass of flames suddenly arose from her palm, burning the abandoned house in front of her.
“He, hehe… It’s the real deal. This power is amazing!”
The girl cloaked her body in flames and cried out to the sky.
“Today I am reborn! I inherited the power of the Fire Sibyl Avenius… as Tita Avenius!”
She was reborn as the Fire Sibyl.
And she was ready to take back everything…
Reborn as a Fire Sibyl, Tita then crossed over to Agidis, relying on the memories of her predecessors.
She then manifested her powers and chose to join the military, as she had always wished.
The memories of the Sibyls mingled together with her feelings as a love-starved girl. She dreamed of taking everything with her power and being adored by her people like the old Hero-King… However, that was the beginning of hell.
Some time has passed since then…
Tita had become a remarkable spearhead for Agidis.
The conflict between the two nations had once quieted down, but it then sparked violently again. A vanguard of 3,000 troops led by Tita set out from Agidis, heading toward Luthra.
On their way, they passed by the water capital of Tioquia.
Tioquia was a city located on the border between Agidis and Luthra, but it was a cooperative force for Luthra. In other words, Tioquia was no less an enemy for Agidis.
There was only one thing for them to do.
“We will conquer this city! Show the power of Agidis!”
Under Tita’s command, Agidis’ army unleashed destruction. They did not care about the people or the city. The city had no strength to fight, and it was overpowered in the blink of an eye.
But then, a clear voice filled with anger echoed through the air. It didn’t belong on the battlefield.
“Stop fighting now! I am the Water Sibyl Juna Salacia. You are not unaware of the power of a Sibyl, are you? If you don’t want to be hurt, put down that sword!”
The soldiers of Agidis were upset by the unexpected appearance of the Sibyl.
However, Tita appeared in front of Juna as if she was trying to wade through the turmoil.
“You could have easily killed me by surprise…but you haven’t. That means you don’t even have the guts to kill someone, right?”
“This feeling… No way, you're a Fire…!”
“Exactly! As a reward, I’ll show you how it’s done.”
As she told her so, Tita incinerated the people of Tioquia one after another.
“AAAAAAAH!!”
“Lady Juna, save us…!”
A cry of grief enveloped the city.
The people of Tioquia descended into a half-crazy frenzy.
“Well? Do you understand now?”
“How dare you…!!”
Juna, the Water Sibyl, raised her staff and attempted to wield its power, but Tita turned her sword toward the people to stop her.
“Too late! Your people will be killed if you fight!!”
Burning flames caressed the cheeks of those who have been hit by the sword’s tip. Before her writhing citizens, Juna’s will to fight shattered into nothingness.
“Please stop! Don’t you feel anything about it!?”
“Of course not. I don’t give a damn about those who side with the enemy.”
There was a sparkle in Tita’s sharp eyes.
It showed what happened to those who disobeyed her.
“P-Please. I don’t care what happens to me. J-just stop it…for those who live here!”
Juna opened her arms to surrender and collapsed, as if drained by the madness she endured.
“Hmph… What a boring woman. She completely killed the mood in one shot.”
Tita approached Juna and, placing her hand on her neck, held her up on the spot as if to show her to the people of Tioquia.
After watching the expression on Juna’s face as she moaned in pain, Tita declared loudly,
“From now on, Tioquia has fallen to Agidis!”
The soldiers of Agidis and the people of Tioquia were watching.
The opposite reactions that erupted in the crowd spoke volumes about the outcome of this conflict.
“…I-I hope…everyone’s l-life…”
“Aha, I don’t know about that. You might think it would have been better to die right here, you know? Your people are going to be slaves of Agidis.”
The word “slaves” made her body tremble.
“N-no… They're humans. They are…not…objects…”
“Slaves are below humans! They can’t even be called humans! Men work until they die, and women and children are their comfort! You are such a naive Sibyl if you can’t even understand that! HAHAHAHAHA!”
“Ha… I’m…such a...”
Juna’s face was contorted in anguish and tears were streaming down her crumpled cheeks.
The people of Tioquia also wet the earth with tears at the sight of their Sibyl crying out loud.
–The people of Tioquia were sent home one after another. All Juna could do was watch. Yet Tita relentlessly drove her onward, despite her grief.
“Hehe, you are my slave. I’m going to give you a taste of the greatest hell you’ve ever seen. Come!”
“…”
“Stop! Don’t hurt Lady Juna!”
As Juna was dragged away, a young man appeared to protect her.
Behind him, several men and women followed, their mouths agape in protest.
“Oh, do you want to die? Fine then!”
“Stop it already!”
With her great sword Diabolos still raised, Tita looked at Juna, who suddenly cried out. Her eyes were lit up as she saw a young man standing at the front of the line of sight. Tita, who had discovered the relationship between the two just by looking at him, thought about killing him right in front of her, and put all her strength into her hand gripping the sword.
However, her decision was negated by a sudden flash of inspiration.
“I have an idea… I’ll take you all to the battlefront. Their fates rest on you, okay Juna?”
In the end, they were just hostages to keep Juna in restraint.
“What do you want me to do…?”
Her gaze met Tita’s, who wore an evil smile.
She couldn’t help but wonder if she really was the same Sibyl.
“If you don’t kill the people of Luthra, I will kill your people as many times as you hesitate.”
Her eyes widened in shock, and she responded in a voice that sounded like it was about to fade away in resignation.
“…Under…stood…”
And so, Juna the Water Sibyl became another cog in the wheel of fate.
They all left Tioquia in the sunset…
After seizing Tioquia, Agidis’ army began its invasion of Luthra.
The 3,000 men of Agidis’ army, led by Tita, pushed forward across the fertile land. The warhorse galloped through endless rice fields.
The goal was to kill Mian, the Earth Sibyl and take everything away from Luthra.
At the destination, they were met by 6,000 Aterima followers and warriors.
Tita spoke to them, standing at the head of her fierce army.
“Give up Mian! If you refuse, I will decorate this city with your peoples' blood and flesh!”
The believers did not accept Tita’s advice and raised their weapons, showing their will to resist. Seeing this, she smiled wryly. It had to be so.
“Your fate is sealed! Put your swords to their throats! Take them, kill them!”
With Tita’s command, boots and hooves shook the earth.
–Here and now, the two armies clashed.
“HAHAHAHA! Die! Die! DIE ALL OF YOU!”
With each swing of her greatsword, blood splattered and screams rose.
A mountain of death was being built on the battlefield, and it turned into a screaming hell.
It was almost like they were singing.
Tita put her raging emotions on her sword, and lay waste to the followers.
“Gah! La-Lady Mian…!”
“Lady Miaaan! Please save us!!”
No matter what.
The only thing they were able to say was Lady Mian.
Why did they adore her even though their lives were in danger?
“Ack! Lady… Mia…”
The woman who got beheaded was also one of them.
She said Mian’s name.
Tita was in a good mood, but gradually her expression became darker.
Then, in the blink of an eye, a fiery passion welled up from her entire body.
“…All of you!! You really think this Mian is more important!? Shut the hell up!!”
Her fire burned down the followers in her vision.
She thrusted her Diabolos into the earth and screamed madly.
“…So I will burn down all of you! You will realize that faith alone won’t end this fight!!”
Tita’s deadly blade took hold of one and then another.
The blood of these Aterima worms would fill the earth.
Those who defied her, those who flee from her.
Even women and children.
They would have all be given equal death in presence of Tita.
“Oh, it’s over already… How boring…”
By the time she realized that, the town square was covered in piles of corpses and dripping blood.
The flames that had burned the city to the ground were gone, and the night was falling as if to bless the silence of death.
“Ahhhh. My Diabolos…is bloody, isn’t it…”
Tita arched her back and raised her voice to the heavens.
She laughed for a moment, then wiped her sword as if she remembered.
“This Lady Mian you believe in has not come to save you! Isn’t that hilarious?! HAHAHAHAHA! …Hm?”
Suddenly dizzy from her own echoing screaming, she groaned and put her hands on the ground.
However, even though they had just witnessed such a scene, none of the Agidis soldiers made any move to approach her, but simply watched.
They did not realize it yet. They had not yet realized that their feelings for her had shifted from respect to fear.
They were imagining a devil laughing evilly behind Tita’s back.
“…Haha, why does everyone have something that I don’t have… Why is it so…frustrating… Mian, Juna…you two were just given happiness…love…and this fire given to me is…”
The hero who would lead Agidis to victory, the only hope for the people who were born into this unfair world.
The girl’s words simply faded into the sky like a drop of ink.
The advance of the invasion of the Agidis army led by Tita was so great that it was not even possible to stall them, let alone stop them.
The fertile land of Luthra was trampled down by merciless iron, and the territories were burning up one after another.
It was as if to say that this momentum would not stop until Mian, the Earth Sibyl was killed.
Tita screamed.
She ordered to kill every last one of the evil-doers of Aterima and their families.
They were not allies.
She would have killed anyone who turned away from her. The soldiers, frightened by her attitude, turned their deadly blades on the people who were not resisting.
Did they have a cause?
They no longer even knew.
Their bodies, controlled by fear, obeyed in order to protect their own lives.
They knew that if they disobeyed, they would become that mass of white flesh…
“Report here! The advance party led by Lady Tita has advanced to within one step of Luthra’s center!”
Tita was eating her way through the Luthra camp at breakneck speed.
Upon receiving the report, the upper echelons of the Agidis camp smiled more wryly and spoke with satisfaction.
“How wonderful. As we expect from our Fire Sibyl.”
“If we continue to march forward, we will be able to conquer this entire troublesome city of Luthra.”
“Then we must find the Earth Sibyl as soon as possible.”
“Let’s strangle the Sibyl, parade her through the entire country, and then…”
“””We people of Agidis shall be promised everlasting wealth and fertility.”””
The men’s intentions were to lead Luthra to further hell.
What lied beyond this war?
No one knew the ending.
The speed of the Luthra invasion increased further under the direction of the Agidis army’s higher-ups.
Many rich villages were burned to the ground, and all the life that had once breathed there was reaped.
The smell of ashes and death entwined in the air, and cries of despair stuck in the ears.
The eyes of the soldiers who followed Tita no longer had a trace of their original radiance. With spirits as fragile as dust, the group marched on towards the next battlefield.
At last, they received information about the city where Mian was hiding out.
–The Sibyl was in the Holy City of Alesandia.
“HAHAHAHA! Finally… I can finally kill you!”
Tita immediately set course for the Holy City.
Her gaze was not on her exhausted subordinates, but on the unseen Mian.
–The defense of the Holy City was incomparable to the villages and cities they had conquered, but this was only in a confrontation between humans.
Standing before them was none other than Tita Avenius, the Fire Sibyl.
The crimson-black flames unleashed from her hands writhed and raged like a living creature, scorching everything that stood in the way of the advancing troops.
“Mian! Come out now! If you don’t want the people here to be roasted alive… AHAHAHAHA!”
The battlefield was filled with the smell of burnt people, so much so that it was difficult to even breathe.
No one but Tita could maintain their sanity there.
The nauseating hellscape made the Aterima followers lose their will to fight and flee aimlessly.
Tita was killing them as if they were her own property. Then, she spotted a young girl with a black shoulder strap and a large cane.
That girl was Mian Telseuras, the Earth Sibyl. The stronghold of the people of Luthra.
“This feeling… AAAAAAAAAH, I FOUND YOU!”
Tita’s cheeks flushed as if she had been reunited with her dearest lover, showing an expression befitting her age. In contrast, Mian wore a face that could be neither fear nor hatred.
“You must have been happy… so I’m going to take it all away from you!!”
With a shudder, she ran towards Mian.
In that moment, the black blade of her Diabolos approached the Earth Sibyl.
The sound of blades clashing was heard.
A man was standing there protecting Mian.
The one who had dared to confront Tita was Edain, a man who served Mian.
“Lady Mian! Please run away while you can!”
“No Edain! You don’t even have a chance of winning…!”
“Go! You must go! You cannot die here!”
Mian left, surrounded by Aterima followers.
“NO! EDAIN!”
The man called Edain watched Mian walk away and turned to Tita.
“You fire-controlling demon! I won’t let you do this!”
With a sharp, resolute cry, he charged in to strike. But no matter how strong Edain’s body was, it was no match for the Sibyl’s power.
“You are so boring…”
Tita easily caught Edain’s sword and melted it with the power of fire.
“…Fool… You monster…!”
Tita watched in satisfaction as Edain’s face was tinged with terror at losing his weapon. Her expression twisted in delight was that of a predator.
“I saw the look on her face. I realized what you are to her.”
“…La-Lady Mia…”
Before he had time to say a word, his head and body were permanently separated.
Tita stomped on the rolling head and screamed as loud as she could.
Her voice, sounding like a curse, echoed through the black smoke in the sky.
“MIAAAAN! Remember! The name of the one who will take your life! Carve it into your heart! It’s the name of Tita Avenius!”
Everyone was surrounded by loved ones, accepted by their own names…
But an inferno of hatred burned in Tita’s heart, as she was denied that both as a human and as a Sibyl.
Mian’s figure vanished from the distance as the Holy City was burned indiscriminately by Tita.
Not a single trace of its beauty remained.
“…She has so many things I don’t have. I won’t allow her, I won’t allow her…”
Having lost sight of the target for her anger, Tita was at a loss.
Seeing her in such a state, an Agidis soldier cautiously approached and asked with concern.
“L-Lady Tita, are you hurt!?”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
A fresh stain spread across the earth with a splash.
Driven mad by jealousy, Tita no longer cared about friend or foe.
“Mian, it doesn’t matter where you run to. I will catch up to you, and I will take everything and all your followers from you…just like when everything was taken from me…from this body of mine…!”
The burning Holy City of Alesandia turned to dust overnight, along with its glorious history.
And the flames of the disaster spread by Tita were about to approach the last stronghold.
Tita was driven by anger after letting Mian escape.
Her destination was the citadel of Anchieta, the pride of Luthra.
It was an impregnable fortress with walls surrounding a cathedral built on a hill, forming a huge city.
If the city was attacked, Luthra would have surely been destroyed.
Facing a turning point in history, Agidis hurried to send reinforcements and settle the matter.
They would be exposed to pincer attacks from all sides if they were too slow.
What awaited Tita and her soldiers as they launched their invasion was the fierce resistance from Luthra. The fanatical persistence of the attacking followers and the steep, sloping terrain made their advance difficult.
To make matters worse, arrows and iron balls raining down from the top of the walls severely disrupted the soldiers’ focus.
Yet amidst the hellish battlefield, Tita was the only one laughing.
The sound of rattling chains echoed unpleasantly in the air.
It was Juna, the Water Sibyl, with her entire body bound in chains.
“Hmmm… I guess there’s a lot more than the name citadel implies.”
“Your men are dying one by one, and you still want to continue the invasion? How can you go that far…?
“Because that is my role as the Fire Sibyl. I am indispensable to the invasion of Luthra, and I am needed by the army of Agidis. What more reason is there!?”
Numerous cities were burned down, and crows were swarming over the corpses.
After destroying everything, would Agidis really become rich?
Juna’s words failed to reach the girl, whose gaze was somewhat vacant.
“Hey, how can you still talk so much nonsense when you’ve taken so many lives too…?”
“It-it was under your order…”
“Not enough…” Tita said, and continued.
“Hey, will you kill every citizen in this city? If you do, I’ll release your precious hostages. You’ve already killed plenty of them, so you can do more, right?”
Tita was so careless that it was as if she was asking her to go shopping.
“If this city collapses, the war will be over. Then you will be saved. It will be easy. Hahahahaha!”
Tita, who was making a show, pointed her sword at Juna’s followers.
With the tip of the blade aimed at her beloved one, there was no way for Juna to resist.
All she could do was nod, struggling to endure the rising nausea.
“I will come back to see the result after I attack the cathedral. Do your best, okay?”
With those words, Tita headed for the front line with her followers in tow.
Overcome with grief, Juna headed for the plaza with heavy steps.
To reach the citadel of Anchieta, they had to advance along an endless straight road. However, repeated ambushes from gaps in the walls forced the Agidis army to remain vigilant of their surroundings, demanding they advance while maintaining intense concentration.
It was extremely taxing, and no matter how strong the army was, it was enough to break their minds.
The soldiers could no longer hide their fatigue, and those who had lost the will to fight were beginning to desert.
“We couldn’t take this fortress by ourselves!”
“It’s no use, we need more reinforcements. As long as we surround them, they won't be able to escape!”
With these words, the soldiers tried to leave the front.
But they never returned.
They were instantly extinguished by the mass of flames that suddenly appeared.
“How disappointing. Steal! Kill! Eradicate all those heretics! If you don’t do as I say, I’ll kill you on the spot!”
The soldiers, with that declaration and seeing the death of their comrades charred to black before their eyes, were driven by fear.
Then, they shouted to no one in particular.
“S-shut up, you monster! Who would follow you?”
“That’s it! We’re leaving this battlefield! Even if it means killing you!”
A drop of fear instantly propagated.
One after another, the soldiers started to cry out in rebellion.
Naturally, Tita was not happy with the situation, and yelled at them in outrage.
“Why…!? Our victory is to destroy Luthra and take away their happiness! And to do so we have to burn it down, along with its Sibyl!”
In Tita’s mind, the image of the village that had been overrun and burned to the ground that day and the eerie-smiling woman appeared. It was the former Sibyl who had fought for Agidis…
“You bastards… are you trying to steal everything to me again!?”
Her expression was filled with anguish, a mixture of sorrow and rage.
“No one accepts me… No one loves me. You… You selfish humans! I shall burn everything up. I will just kill you all!!”
The Fire Sibyl standing before both nations became their greatest enemy.
So much has changed that the course of the battle had been determined.
Tita’s emotional state was such that she would go to great lengths to destroy both friend and foe alike.
The Aterima followers were mystified by the way she buried her own people, one after another.
“It is time to fight back! We will bring the Fire Sibyl who took the lives of our people to justice!”
“OHHH!!”
The Aterima followers rushed toward Tita one after another.
Tita was no longer able to make proper judgments due to the anger and grief of the past Sibyls. She could only kill those who stood in her way.
The girl, who had become a killing machine, swung her greatsword frantically while screaming.
“AAAAAH!! YOU! YOU! DO YOU THINK I’M THE ENEMY?!?!”
…She had to burn everything out!
The flames that were unleashed rushed through the narrow streets, and the leading followers quickly turned into dust.
Even witnessing her terrifying power, the followers pressed forward.
The Agidis soldiers also overcame the corpses of their brethren and run toward their goal.
They had abandoned their fear of the Sibyl in order to kill her.
“”DIEEEEEEEE!!!””
“It’s useless! Blast it!!”
Just as the soldiers were about to break into the avalanche, an explosion erupted around Tita, and its searing blast turned them into silent corpses.
“HAHAHAHA! I have nothing but this power. I have not choice but… take, take, tAkE, t a k e ….”
Ignoring her hazy vision, Tita headed straight toward the cathedral.
Her limp legs were stained an intense red. A soldier’s sword had reached her abdomen, and blood was dripping down her leg.
“If I kill her… I’ll be a…hero… Must…take…everything…!!”
What spontaneously spilled out of Tita’s mouth was a wish for her to be acknowledged and to be someone people would rely on. It seemed as if she was consoling herself with these words.
She was almost there. If she killed Mian and conquered the cathedral, her wish would have been fulfilled.
“This time…I’ll be satisfied…”
And in that moment, as if to clear away the smoke, an arrow flew into the air.
It pierced her chest with precision…
“Gh…gh…”
The arrow of doom pierced her chest.
Tita, who had lost her sense of balance due to her distorted vision, moaned and fell to her knees on the ground. As if on cue, a roar of delight shook the air.
“It got her! We shot the Sibyl!!”
“OOOOOOH!!”
“KILL! KILL! KILL!”
The battlefield became a place where all was one.
The world, filled with amplified madness, was covered with murderous intents.
(Why? Why do I have to suffer like this? I will destroy Luthra and give victory…to Agidis…)
Tears of disappointment rolled down Tita’s cheeks. They evaporated and were wiped away as soon as they were shed.
It was as if God was telling her that she was not even allowed to cry.
The men with bloodshot eyes loomed in front of her.
…She had to kill them.
Her veins were pulsing so hard that her head felt like it was about to boil.
Why did it hurt so much?
The pain was so overwhelming that she couldn’t even concentrate properly.
It hurt. Hurt, hurt, hurt. So…much…
Countless arrows were sticking out of her body.
But that didn’t stop her, and she continued on to her goal.
She wanted to kill that woman with her own hands.
“YOU MONSTER! DIEEEE!”
A sword pierced her, and its impact threw her to the ground.
Then, she got hit by swords flying from all directions.
Her arm was shredded and an eye blinded. Every time her crumpled armor creaked from being hit, her skin was hurting so much.
She was only feeling pain and suffering.
As death approached, Tita’s mind was flooded with dizzying memories.
She did not know if they belonged to the Elemental or to the past Sibyls. Overwhelmed by the countless overlapping memories of young girls meeting their end, Tita’s very spirit began to crumble.
(These are…the Sibyls… I… Am…)
(… s a v e m e ….)
Her throat was slashed and no words were conveyed by the overflowing blood.
It only made an unpleasant sound.
(Hahaha, hahahaha)
(…What a crazy world we live in)
Her sword was lowered.
What was the last thing she saw in her clouded consciousness?
Pierced by countless blades, Tita finally succumbed to her injuries.
It was at that very moment.
Amidst the battlefield roaring with the Sibyl’s death, a sudden explosion of flames erupted.
Deep black flames instantly consumed the soldiers, melted the walls, and gouged out the earth.
And as if to witness it…
Tita’s original soul and life were released from the cage of her body and disappeared with the flames into dust.
By her side, there were many girls…who had once been Sibyls.
The power of the Elemental, forced upon the girls to fight and driven mad by it, vanished, finding no new host.
–Some time after the death of the Sibyl…
Ironically, the conflict between Agidis and Luthra was about to be settled with the conclusion of a cease-fire agreement due to the outburst and death of the Sibyl.
It was an utterly selfish outcome, but such is the nature of war.
The era of conflict, filled with sacrifices and sorrow, was over. A new era was about to begin.
The city that was burned in the fires of war would have been restored with time.
The citadel of Anchieta fought a fierce battle, and was now also slowly moving forward, leaving behind traces of its past.
In the midst of all this, in a corner of the burnt-out city, a sword of exceptional size lay discarded.
Ominously dull in its glow, it was the Diabolos that was once wielded by the Fire Sibyl.
A really, really faint light was leaking from the bloodied and rusted hilt of the sword.
It was like anger, like fire, like hell… Red, vermilion, crimson.
A girl was standing at the point where the light shone. Her sickly white skin, as if covered in ash, peeked through. She spoke as if talking to a friend.
“Humans are so ugly, shallow, and arrogant. Once they mingle, all that is born is strife and chaos.”
After saying that, she held up her hand.
The red light was swallowed into the girl and vanished.
Instantly, the great sword crumbled away and transformed into a pile of dirt.
And then the girl sank into the darkness, still wearing an eerie smile.
